Command Praying Can Solve Relationship Problems

Among the various types of praying we can do, command prayers help in our relationship difficulties.   To do command praying, we need to be sure we are clear about our identity in Christ, have a clean conscience, and take a position with Jesus on the heavenly throne with a footstool under our feet.

We also need to take time to identify what the factors are causing the conflict.  These may be strongholds of dark beliefs or corrupt behaviors, ungodly lies, or roots of bitterness.  We need to take the person with whom we are in conflict and place him/her on God’s hook, instead of taking responsibility for him/her.

It is not easy to use our delegated authority to do command praying.  I have trouble with authority because I lack knowing what to do.  I also get distracted by the swirling problems that surround me and stop focusing on Jesus.  Sometimes I don’t use authority because I am afraid people won’t like me, and I’ll appear mean and nasty.  Most significantly, I simply don’t believe that God would really want me to manage His authority.

But the fact is, Jesus says that He has given us all authority.   Command praying is as simple as saying, “If this is of the devil, I command you to cease in the name of Jesus.”  A command prayer casts away the negative.   Then one prays a blessing and fills the void left by the “casting out” with a resource from the Kingdom of God. For example, “I rebuke the spirit of fear, in the name of Jesus.   And I claim the blessing of a spirit of love and power in exchange.” (2 Tim. 1:7.)

One needs to approach this type of praying with confidence. Satan can smell our fear.  Remember that God called the earth into existence with a word.   Jesus is the Word of God.   We need to declare Kingdom of God words into our broken relationships, and silence all the lies and criticisms that come from the enemy.

Blessings,
