About

My mission is to bind up the broken-hearted, proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners.

Dr. Julie earned her Ph.D in Counseling Psychology from SUNY at Buffalo. She also holds a Masters of Science from the University of Rochester and a Bachelor of Arts Cum Laude from Smith College. Dr. Julie worked on staff at the Genesee County Mental Health Clinic for eighteen years. Because of her love of young children, she enjoyed her work as mental health consultant for Cattaraugus and Wyoming County Project Head Start, a role she had for two decades. Since 1996 Dr. Julie has provided psychological services and counsels out of her home office in Oakfield with her canine co-therapist.

Dr. Julie uses her passion for faith and story telling in her therapy sessions, and while writing novels and poetry. This practice appeals to clients and readers alike as it speaks to their hearts as well as their minds. Dr. Julie has a way of evoking emotion in her listeners, which clarify their life’s struggles and brings healing to them. Between clients you might find her swinging high under the pine trees in her back yard or romping with Golli and Lukey or riding her gelding, Forge.

Dr. Julie was married for 42 years and many clients remember the “farm” where she saw them. Currently she is living in the Village of Oakfield in order to be more accessible to the community. To expand her method of reaching clients and relieving their stress, she has built an in-door counter-current swimming pool and now does aqua therapy as needed. She has two grown children, Jay and Beth, and one grandchild, Evie. In Dr. Julie’s spare time she loves to immerse herself in her writing, swimming and traveling.

Dr. Julie’s heart is centered on her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She has been a committed follower of Christ since April 17, 1964 when she first accepted him as Lord and Savior at a youth rally. From that point forward she has enjoyed seeing God work in her life. From the beginning of her walk with the Lord, she has experienced the power of the Holy Spirit and often shares with her clients and readers ways of deepening their relationships with God. She spends time daily in the Word and praying, which are the backbone of her life’s ministry. Dr. Julie cites the prophet Isaiah as her mission statement: her life goals are to “bind up the broken-hearted, proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners.” Dr. Julie worships at Living Waters Church in LeRoy, NY. She is an active Bible Study leader, and is often a guest speaker at His Presence Fellowship in Concord, MA. She has received her Christian Healing Practitioners Certificate from Dr. Randy Clark’s School with Global Awakening.
