How to Empower Your Prayer Life by Loving Yourself

Does God want you to love yourself?  I suggest He absolutely does — and one reason is because self-love empowers your praying. While there may be voices in your head that tell you not to love yourself,  as there have been in mine, I suggest that you silence them.  Recognize the lies that hinder your ability to love yourself the way God loves you  Tell the enemy to be silent.

Loving oneself is not that easy.  For one reason Scripture teaches that we are to “deny” ours or “lose yourself”.   Doesn’t that seem to be the opposite of loving yourself?   I asked the Lord to help me understand this contradiction.  He shared some insights into the story of Abraham and Issac.  In this video, we look at how Issac, as a young man, had a strong identity and self-love.  This attribute made it possible for him to get on the altar and accept the idea that he was to be sacrificed for worship by the hand of his father.  He believed God would make good on His promises!

Loving self, the way God loves you, is difficult.  So here I suggest some specific actions you can take to learn how to do it better.   It is one of the most difficult things I have had to do in my walk with Jesus.   But once you understand that God the Father loves you, and He wants you to love yourself, your capacity to pray according to God’s will, with the authority God gives you, is increased.

Blessings,
